Denarius. 56 BC, Rome. 3.78 g. 18.00 mm. 12h
Obv. Head of Ceres to right, wearing wreath of grain ears; C•MEMMI•C•F downwards before.
Rev. Naked captive, his hands tied behind his back, kneeling right at foot of trophy of arms with a Greek shield; C•MEMMIVS downwards to right, IMPERATOR downwards to left.

Struck from a slightly worn obverse die and therefore with minor areas of weakness. Otherwise lightly toned and extremely fine.
