Denarius. 48 BC, Rome. 3.93 g. 18.20 mm. 11h
Obv. Helmeted head of young Mars to right, with slight beard.
Rev. Two carnyces (Gallic trumpets) in saltire with oval shield above and round shield below; ALBINVS downwards to right, BRVTI•F upwards to left.
Crawford 450/1a; Sydenham 941; CRI 25; BMCRR Rome 3962; RSC Junia 26 and Postumia 11; RBW 1576.
Well struck on a broad flan. Nicely toned with golden hints around the devices. A flan-crack at eleven o'clock on obverse, otherwise VF.
