Denarius. AD 200, Rome. 3.48 g. 19.50 mm. 12h
Obv. ANTONINVS AVGVSTVS, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right.
Rev. PONTIF TR P III, Sol standing front, holding orb and spear.
RIC IV 30a; BMCRE 179; RSC 413.
A lovely and handsome portrait, lightly toned. Struck from a slightly worn reverse die with a break at 12 o'clock and some minor deposits on the reverse, otherwise EF.
