Denarius. AD 238, Rome. 2.76 g. 20.00 mm. 12h
Obv. IMP C D CAEL BALBINVS AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust to right.
Rev. PROVIDENTIA DEORVM, Providentia standing to left, holding a wand in lowered right hand over a globe at feet to left, and cornucopiae in left hand.
RIC IV 7; BMCRE 33; RSC 23.
Lightly toned and with a bold and attractive portrait. The reverse struck from a slightly worn die and with minor flan faults, otherwise, almost extremely fine.
