Description
Didrachm / Quadrigatus. Circa 225-212 BC, Rome. 6.30 g. 23.20 mm. 7h
Obv. Janushead with features of the Dioscuri.
Rev. Jupiter, hurling thunderbolt with right hand and holding scepter in left, in galloping quadriga driven right by Victory, holding reins in both hands; in exergue, ROMA in relief on solid tablet.
Crawford 29/3. RBW 63. Sydenham 64.
A lovely specimen, perfectly centered and struck on a broad flan. Lightly toned and with hints of golden iridescence on the reverse, minor flan crack, Otherwise good VF.
