Nomos. Circa 530-500 BC. 7.70 g. 24.80 mm. 3h
Obv. Tripod with legs terminating in lion's paws; ϘPOTO (retrograde) around.
Rev. Eagle flying to right, incuse.
Gorini 8 var. (ethnic). Attianese 9 (same obverse die); SNG ANS 284 (same dies); SNG Ashmolean 1469 (same obverse die); Historia Numorum Italy 2095.
A nice specimen of a very rare variant with a beautiful old collection tone. Struck from a worn reverse die and with several minor edge marks, otherwise good very fine.
