Serrate Denarius. 71 BC, Rome. 3.91 g. 19.50 mm. 6h
Obv. Helmeted bust of Virtus right; VIRTVS III VIR around.
Rev. The consul Manius Aquillius standing facing, holding shield and raising slumped Sicilian by the arm; MN AQVIL upwards to right, MN•F MN N• downwards to left, SICIL in exergue.

Wonderful deep old iridescent tone. Slightly off-centre on reverse, otherwise about extremely fine.
